Rules & Guidelines

Please read and follow these directions. Submissions that do not follow these guidelines will be disqualified. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us.

• All genres accepted.
• All writers of submitted material must be 18 years of age or older.
• All entries must be in English and between 5 and 22 pages in length.
• Please include a Title page with your submission to include your name and contact information.
• Writers who reside outside of the United States are welcome to enter the contest. Entry in the competition is void where prohibited by laws. INDIE GEMS FILMS WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY SCRRENPLAYS THAT ARE NOT REGISTERED WITH THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS OR WRITERS GUILD WEST or EAST in the United States. Registration numbers must be present on the Title page.
• Scripts written by teams of two or more writers are eligible. THE FUNDING FOR THE PROJECT will be awarded to the writers for SOLE use of making the film. Entries must be postmarked before midnight Eastern Time on the Early, Regular, Late or INDIE GEMS FILMS Extended Deadline in order to qualify for the respective submission fee. Any entries postmarked after the final deadline will be disqualified.
• Your script must be submitted online. Indie Gems Films LLC is a GREEN PLANET company and will not accept any scripts in paper form. Go to submit now for more information. THE SCRIPTS NEED TO BE IN PDF FORM ONLY!
• We will not use the submitted material or any part of the material except in connection with the FUND MY SCRIPT PROJECT.
• Each applicant will receive an email notifying them of the FUND MY SCRIPT PROJECT results, and all results will be posted on the Indie Gems LLC Web site.
• Submitted scripts must be original screenplays, and the sole property of the applicant(s).
• There is no limit to the number of screenplays you may submit.
• Once a script has been entered in this year's screenwriting contest, under no circumstances will we accept substitutions of new drafts or corrected pages. If you wish to submit a revised draft of your script, you must enter it as a new submission and pay the appropriate entry fee.
• The competition is not responsible for submissions that are lost or damaged in transit., Adaptations of books, plays, or other source material written by another author are not eligible under any circumstances; nor are scripts adapted from books, plays, or other source material written by you if your source material has been sold, produced, or is currently under option to any third party. Scripts adapted from your own self-published books, plays, or other source material are eligible if you have retained all rights to your work and supply Indie Gems Films LLC with the proper copyright registration numbers.
• If a submitted screenplay becomes optioned or purchased between the time of submission and the end of the judging period, that screenplay will no longer be eligible.
• Competition judges are employees of Indie Gems Films LLC. Employees of Indie Gems Film LLC , past or present, and their immediate families, are not eligible.
• Decisions of the judges are final and may not be disputed.
• All submissions are final and no refunds will be processed.
